Incorporated
in 1979 in Needham, MA, Auto Europa began as 2 mechanics partnering
for business. Larry Croke (the current owner & head mechanic)
proceeded to build Auto Europa by investing in Snap-On tools and
mechanic training. "Nothing has ever stumped Larry," says
co-worker Alex. "Every job can be diagnosed and fixed because
Auto Europa never says, 'We don't know.'"
Why does over 90% of their business comes in by word-of-mouth? Auto
Europa has a solid reputation - "we treat every car like it's
our own."
Aaron Gaudette is one of the head mechanics that makes Auto Europa
unique. He spent 11 years working on motorcycles for Snap-On before
starting on European cars in 1991 with Larry. Through the National
Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, Aaron has acquired
specialty training and certification in such areas as Electrical/Electronic
Systems, Heating & Air Conditioning, and Engine Performance. See
the repairs section for Aaron's
certificate details.
In 1994, Larry's skills were requested by a customer who was located
in Saudi Arabia. No one there could fix the Benz's air conditioning
so the owner sent for the best mechanic he knew. Larry was flown
over and it took him two parts and one hour to fix the car.
In early 2000, Larry started the Cream Puff Club, acting as a buyer's
agent and getting people what they want. He travels to auctions
with a set of specs and finds a match. After a little inspection,
he calls the buyer as he stands by the car with a cell phone and
tells them what he sees. People are always satisfied because they
get good deals, good cars, and a great mechanic out of the process. |
